Regular Season Round 12: Almeria - Adelantados 59-95

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Adelantados (9-3) smashed on the road 13th ranked Almeria (2-10) 95-59 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 55-17 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Adelantados dominated on the defensive end, holding Almeria to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Almeria's 36. They outrebounded Almeria 48-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Patricia Benet (170-88) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American forward Korinne Campbell (184-88, college: W.Virginia) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Adelantados players scored in double figures. Coach Claudo Garcia's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Pamela Moral (175-82, agency: ProDep Management) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and Bosnian center Samra Omerbasic (191-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Adelantados have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Leganes. Almeria lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. Adelantados will face league's leader Gran Canaria in Las Palmas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Almeria will play on the road against Alcobendas (#6) and hope to win that game.
