Very expected game when 15th ranked Moncalieri (2-12) was edged at home by seventh ranked USE Basket (7-7) 60-58 on Saturday. Strangely Moncalieri outrebounded USE Basket 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Valerio Marsili (204-87) who scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Gianni Terrosi (191-89, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points. Power forward Fabio Delvecchio (194-94) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Guglielmo De-Ros (185-98) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Moncalieri's coach Marco Spanu let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. USE Basket maintains seventh position in B with 7-7 record, which they share with Padova. Loser Moncalieri keeps the fifteenth place with 12 games lost. USE Basket will face LTC Sangiorg. (#12) in San Giorgio in the next round where they are favorite. Moncalieri will play on the road against the league's second-placed Firenze All Foods and will have a slim chance for a victory.
