Regular Season Round 12: Jyvaskyla BA - TuNMKY 98-67

Very important is a road loss of third ranked TuNMKY (8-3) against eighth ranked Jyvaskyla BA (6-5) on Saturday night. Visiting TuNMKY was crushed by Jyvaskyla BA in Jyvaskyla 98-67. It looked good early as TuNMKY took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Jyvaskyla BA had a 21-18 second period charge getting the lead and TuNMKY was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-98. Jyvaskyla BA forced 25 TuNMKY turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Miikka Marttinen (195-92) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and swingman Timi Puittinen (193-94) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Jyvaskyla BA players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Mikael Sandberg (210-91) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and forward Mikael Laihonen (202-94) scored 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jyvaskyla BA moved-up to sixth place in Division. TuNMKY at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
