Regular Season Round 12: Monaco - Antibes 101-54

Bottom-ranked Antibes (0-12) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to fourteenth ranked Monaco (5-9) 101-54 on Saturday evening. Monaco dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Antibes' 26 and made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while Antibes only scored seven points from the stripe. Monaco forced 19 Antibes turnovers and outrebounded them 57-24 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Romain Poinas (203-98) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). DR Congolese Shekinah Munanga (201-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Tom Wiscart Goetz (188-99) who recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Belgian Giuliano Neri (193-99) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monaco maintains fourteenth position with 5-9 record. Loser Antibes still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Monaco will meet at home higher ranked Le Portel (#8) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Antibes will play against Hyeres-Toulon (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
