Regular Season Round 12: Lyon-Villeurbanne - Bourg 73-78

The most important game in the last round took place in Villeurbanne between third ranked Lyon-Villeurbanne (9-3) and sixth ranked Bourg (8-4) on Saturday night. Lyon-Villeurbanne was defeated by Bourg in a tough game at home 73-78. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Lyon-Villeurbanne. Bourg made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Lyon-Villeurbanne turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Joanny Cretinon who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists and Alexis Collin (196-98) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Bourg's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Jules Fontaine (178-99) with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Theo Maledon (192-0) scored 18 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bourg have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gravelines and Nanterre. Lyon-Villeurbanne at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Bourg is looking forward to face league's second-placed Strasbourg U21 at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Lyon-Villeurbanne will play against Nanterre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
