Regular Season Round 13: Levallois - Chalons-Reims 94-84

There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Chalons-Reims (5-8) lost on the road to sixteenth ranked Paris-Levallois (5-8) 94-84 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Paris-Levallois. Chalons-Reims was better in third quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paris-Levallois made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Chalons-Reims was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for international Boris Diaw (203-82) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Paris-Levallois' coach Frederic Fauthoux allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Ed Daniel (203-90, college: Murray St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in the effort for Chalons-Reims. Four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. Paris-Levallois moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Chalons-Reims. Paris-Levallois will face higher ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
