Regular Season Round 16: Gent Hawks - Neufchateau 80-68

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Neufchateau (4-9) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Gent Hawks (6-8) 80-68. The winners were led by power forward Joren Vermoessen (201-93) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Laurent Lhote (182-84) supported him with 13 points and 7 assists. Four Gent Hawks players scored in double figures. Gent Hawks' coach Eric Rogiers allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by point guard Alexis Pierre (178-92) did not help to save the game for Neufchateau. Guard Thibaut Boxus (180-91) added 12 points for lost side. Gent Hawks maintains tenth position with 6-8 record. Neufchateau lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with nine games lost. Gent Hawks' next round opponent will be league's leader Oxaco in Boechout and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Neufchateau will play on the road against Gistel Oostende (#9) and hope to win that game.
