There was an upset when higher ranked Omnia Basket (8-6) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Varese Robur (5-9) 66-61 on Saturday. Varese Robur outrebounded Omnia Basket 48-29 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Omnia Basket was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Giacomo Bloise (179-90) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Davide Rosignoli (203-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Alessandro Infanti (193-85, agency: Two Points) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Daniele Manuelli (192-94) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Varese Robur moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Rimini and Bernareggio. Newly promoted Omnia Basket dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Varese Robur will face Alba (#14) on the road in the next round.
