Regular Season Round 16: Polfarmex Kutno - R8 Krakow 59-57

The most exciting game of round 16 in the 1Liga took place in Kutno. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked R8 Krakow (9-5) to fourth ranked Polfarmex (12-3) 59-57 on Saturday evening. Polfarmex forced 21 R8 Krakow turnovers. Swingman Damian Janiak (195-89, agency: Promotex) fired 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Bosnian power forward Seid Hajric (204-83) produced 18 points and naturalized American swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Polfarmex have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Sokol Lancut. Newly promoted R8 Krakow keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Polfarmex is looking forward to face Sokol Lancut (#4) on the road in the next round. R8 Krakow will play against Nysa Klodzko and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
