We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Gorzow Wlkp. where 7th ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (6-6) was defeated by eighth ranked Energa Torun (6-5) 82-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-68. Energa Torun looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Kelley Cain (198-89, college: Tennessee) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Australian guard Lauren Mansfield (170-89, college: Iowa St., agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. At the losing side American guard Miah Spencer (173-94, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Interperformances) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import center Carolyn Swords (198-89, college: Boston Coll., agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Energa Torun moved-up to seventh place. Loser AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Energa Torun will meet JAS FBG (#11) in the next round. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will play against TS Ostrovia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
