Very expected game in Madrid where 11th ranked Olimpico 64 (3-9) was defeated by fourth ranked Real Canoe (8-3) 62-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Canoe. Olimpico 64 was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Real Canoe made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Lucia Rodriguez (186-99) who scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Sara Gines who recorded 20 points and swingman Susana Bacete (179-93) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Real Canoe have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Real Canoe maintains fourth position in Group B with 8-3 record, which they share with Valencia. Olimpico 64 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with nine games lost. Real Canoe will face Adareva (#12) in Laguna in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
