Regular Season Round 12: Banska Bystrica - Slovan 62-38

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Slovan (1-11) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Banska Bystrica (4-8) 62-38. Banska Bystrica forced 19 Slovan turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Michaela Ozdincova (170-92) who led her team to a victory with 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Jana Matejcikova (168-97) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Radoslava Ostadalova (182-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Polish center Bianka Vaigl (180-95) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Slovan. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banska Bystrica moved-up to fifth place, which they share with UKF Nitra. Slovan lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Banska Bystrica will play against higher ranked BAM Poprad (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Slovan will play against Samorin (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
