Regular Season Round 11: Mons-Hainaut - Liege 99-97

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Euromillions League took place in Jemappes. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Liege Basket (4-6) to fourth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (7-4) 99-97 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Liege Basket. Belfius Mons-Hainaut dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Liege Basket's 38. It was a great evening for American guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) helped adding 22 points and 6 rebounds. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's coach Daniel Goethals used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Tyler Larson (190-91, college: S.Dakota) responded with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and Serbian swingman Milos Bojovic (198-81, agency: 011 Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Belfius Mons-Hainaut moved-up to third place. Liege Basket at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Kangoeroes. Belfius Mons-Hainaut are looking forward to face Spirou Charleroi (#5) on the road in the next round. Liege Basket will play against Leuven Bears and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
