Regular Season Round 5: Obras Basket - Quimsa 75-81

Date: December 17, 2017
Everything went according to plan in Buenos Aires where second ranked Quimsa (4-2) beat 9th ranked Obras Basket (4-3) 81-75 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Quimsa made 8 blocks. Obras Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St., agency: Diamond Sports) stepped up and scored 30 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominican Victor Liz (193-86) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Angolan center Joaquim Valdelicio (208-90, college: Hawaii, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Obras Basket players scored in double figures. Obras Basket's coach Carlos Romano rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quimsa have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Quimsa went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Atenas. Loser Obras Basket dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Quimsa will face La Union (#12) in Formosa in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
