No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Civitanova (6-5) crushed 13th ranked Alghero (1-10) in Civitanova Marche 81-49 on Sunday. Civitanova forced 19 Alghero turnovers and outrebounded them 38-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for guard Veronica Perini (175-88) who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Giorgia Bocola (180-0) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Civitanova players scored in double figures. Civitanova's coach Donatella Melappioni felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Bulgarian forward Veronika Dzhikova (178-90) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sara Azzellini (170-86) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Alghero. Civitanova moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser Alghero keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Civitanova will face league's second-placed RR Retail Galli in Valdarno in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Alghero will play at home against Cagliari V. (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
