Regular Season Round 9: PAOK - Dafni Agioy 58-60

The most exciting game of round 9 in the A1 took place in Thessaloniki. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked PAOK (4-5) to fourth ranked Dafni Agioy (6-3) 60-58 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-10. But PAOK won second period 15-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Blake Dietrick (178-93, college: Princeton, agency: LBM Management) who scored 25 points and 6 assists. Center Cassie Rochel (193-91, college: Wisconsin) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Keani Albanez (178-93, college: Gonzaga) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Dafni Agioy maintains fourth place with 6-3 record. PAOK lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Esperides and Niki Lefkadas. Dafni Agioy are looking forward to face league's second-placed Faros Keratsiniou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PAOK will play against Panionios (#3) in Athens and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
