Regular Season Round 24: Akita NH - Hiroshima D. 76-69

An interesting game for Akita Happinets (20-3) which hosted in Akita one of their biggest challengers Dragonflies (12-11). First ranked Akita Happinets managed to get a 7-point victory 76-69. Akita Happinets made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Akita Happinets outrebounded Dragonflies 47-29 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) who scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Shota Onodera (183-94) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Akita Happinets' coach Josep Claros allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and guard Seiya Tanaka (186-91) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets maintains first position with 20-3 record, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Dragonflies at the other side dropped to the second place with 11 games lost. Akita Happinets' next round opponent will be Yamagata (#4) at home. Dragonflies will play against the league's leader Fukuoka Rizing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
