There was an upset in Gdynia where higher ranked Polpharma (7-3) was defeated by tenth ranked Asseco (6-6) 86-81 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 26-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Polpharma was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Dariusz Wyka (209-91) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Joe Thomasson (193-93, college: Wright St., agency: Two Points) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Milan Milovanovic (205-91, agency: 011 Sports) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Asseco maintains tenth place with 6-6 record. Loser Polpharma dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Asseco will face league's leader MKS Dabrowa Gornicza on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
