Regular Season Round 17: Toyota Alvark - Tochigi Brex 75-67

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Toyota Alvark (19-4) defeated 6th ranked Tochigi Brex (10-13) in Tokyo 75-67 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while Tochigi Brex only scored four points from the stripe. The former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) added 13 points in the effort for Tochigi Brex. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyota Alvark have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-4 record. Defending champion Tochigi Brex dropped to the second position with 13 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa in the next round. Tochigi Brex will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
