There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Bambitious Nara (5-18) won against at home 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-21) 73-58 on Sunday. It was a good game for guard Shuhei Komatsu (185-85) who led his team to a victory with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bambitious Nara have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 5-18 record which they share with defeated Iwate Big Bulls. Iwate Big Bulls lost sixteenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 21 games lost. Bambitious Nara will face league's second-placed Orange Vikings in Matsuyama in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
