Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kanazawa Sam. (12-11) against fourth ranked Yamagata (10-13) on Sunday night. Visiting Kanazawa Sam. was defeated by Yamagata in Yamagata 85-75. The winners were led by American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 22 points and 7 rebounds by American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Kanazawa Sam.. Guard Ide Yuji (181-88) added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamagata maintains fourth position with 10-13 record. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. keeps the second place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Hiroshima D.. Yamagata will meet league's leader Akita Happinets on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kanazawa Sam. will play against Gunma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
