Regular Season Round 12: Lima-Horta - GDKO Bizkaia 50-71

There was no surprise in Barcelona where 8th ranked Lima-Horta (6-6) was crushed by fifth ranked GDKO Bizkaia (8-4) 71-50 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by GDKO Bizkaia. Lima-Horta was better in fourth quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lima-Horta 43-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Peyton Ferris (175-93, college: Montana St.) who scored 22 points. Center Miren Agirregoikoa (192-87) chipped in 6 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Laura Lopez (171-85) who recorded 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ana Alonso (187-90) added 12 points respectively. Lima-Horta's coach Isaac Fernandez gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. GDKO Bizkaia moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Cortegada. Lima-Horta lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Joventut LC (#6) in Barcelona in the next round. Lima-Horta will play on the road against ADBA in Aviles and hope to win that game.
