Regular Season Round 22: Capitanes - Libertadores 89-70

Date: December 17, 2017
No shocking result in a game in Mexico where fourth ranked Capitanes (13-7) smashed bottom-ranked Libertadores (5-15) 89-70. Capitanes made 21-of-23 charity shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Capitanes outrebounded Libertadores 43-26 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Panamanian forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Capitanes' coach Ramon Diaz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Dominican-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) replied with 26 points and American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Libertadores. Capitanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Soles and Mineros. Libertadores lost fourth consecutive game. Libertadores at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. Capitanes will play against Aaguacateros (#7) in Michoacan in the next round where they are favorite. Libertadores will play on the road against Soles (#3) in Mexicali and hope to get back on the winning track.
