Regular Season Round 14: Manresa - Ourense 89-65

Very expected game when 18th ranked Ourense (1-12) was rolled over on the road by fourth ranked La ICL Manresa (10-4) 89-65. It looked good early as Ourense took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then La ICL Manresa had a 28-15 second period charge getting the lead and Ourense was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-89. They outrebounded Ourense 42-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. British forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: Loyola Mary, agency: Court Side) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized German Alvaro Munoz (197-90) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Munoz is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five La ICL Manresa players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by Australian forward Dan Trist (206-92, college: Lafayette) did not help to save the game for Ourense. Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) added 9 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. La ICL Manresa moved-up to third place, which they share with Melilla. Ourense lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. La ICL Manresa's next round opponent will be Blancos de Rueda (#6) in Valladolid. Ourense will play at home against Barca II (#14) and hope to win that game.
