Regular Season Round 13: ASVEL - Bourg 83-87

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked JL Bourg (7-6) beat on the road 6th ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (7-6) 87-83 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 4 points. JL Bourg shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 rebounds. Maxime Courby (200-90) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) answered with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Alpha Kaba (209-96, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. Four JL Bourg and five ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket players scored in double figures. JL Bourg moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. JL Bourg will face higher ranked SIG Strasbourg (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
