Regular Season Round 24: Sendai 89ers - Shinshu BW 58-81

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Sendai 89ers (11-12) against fourth ranked Shinshu BW (11-12) on Sunday night. Host Sendai 89ers were crushed by Shinshu BW in Sendai 81-58. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was South Sudanese-American forward Angelo Chol (206-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) with 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ryunosuke Yanagawa (187-91) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Shinshu BW moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Sendai 89ers. Shinshu BW will play against Tokyo Z (#6) at home in the next round. Sendai 89ers will play against the league's second-placed Fukushima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
