Regular Season Round 24: Ehime OV - Fukushima 75-95

An interesting game for Fukushima (14-8) which played road game in Matsuyama against second-best Orange Vikings (16-7). Second ranked Fukushima had an easy win 95-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Orange Vikings. Fukushima made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while Orange Vikings only scored ten points from the stripe. They outrebounded Orange Vikings 42-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Orange Vikings were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) replied with 27 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Orange Vikings. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima maintains second position with 14-8 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Akita NH which they share with defeated Orange Vikings. Loser Orange Vikings keep the second place with seven games lost. Fukushima will face Sendai 89ers (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Orange Vikings will play against Bambitious Nara and hope to win that game.
