There was an upset when higher ranked Marghera (5-7) lost to fourteenth ranked Pordenone (3-9) in Venezia 47-52 on Sunday. Pordenone forced 19 Marghera turnovers. It was a good game for international power forward Sara Madera (186-0) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Anna Togliani (168-98) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian forward Florencia Llorente (182-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Irene Pieropan (175-91) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Marghera. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Pordenone maintains fourteenth position in A2 with 3-9 record. Loser Marghera keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Pordenone will face higher ranked Udine Delser (#6) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
