WCBA top team - Xinjiang (11-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Whale (4-11) in Sichuan 79-64. It was a great evening for American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Siyue Qiu (177-91) helped adding 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Xinjiang players scored in double figures. Xinjiang's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Belarusian center Yelena Levchenko (196-83, college: W.Virginia) with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Siyang Wu (182-91) scored 14 points. Xinjiang have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-4 record, which they share with Beijing and Shanghai. Whale lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Xinjiang will play against Heilongjiang (#5) in Harbin in the next round. Whale will play at home against Zhejiang Far East (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
