No shocking result in a game when second ranked Beijing Great Wall (11-4) beat on the road bottom-ranked Shaanxi Tianze (1-14) 87-71 on Monday. Beijing Great Wall dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Shaanxi Tianze's 40 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Shaanxi Tianze 42-24 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). International Song Gao (188-92) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Chen-Yan Xu answered with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and center Jing An (184-95) added 11 points in the effort for Shaanxi Tianze. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Shanghai and Xinjiang. Shaanxi Tianze lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Beijing Great Wall will face Jiangsu Phoenix (#6) in Yixing in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shaanxi Tianze will play at home against Shandong (#10) and hope to win that game.
