Regular Season Round 15: Liaoning - Shenyang 85-88

A very interesting game took place in Anshan. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked Liaoning Hengye (7-8) to twelfth ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (6-9) 88-85 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Liaoning Hengye. They outrebounded Liaoning Hengye 35-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Shuai Liu (194-96) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Shuang Zhao (188-90) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Shenyang Golden Lions players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Elizabeth Williams (190-93, college: Duke) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Jinbo Xing (181-96) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Shenyang Golden Lions moved-up to eleventh place. Liaoning Hengye at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Shenyang Golden Lions' next round opponent will be higher ranked Xing Rui (#4) in Taiyuan and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
