There was no surprise when 8th ranked Al Ahli (1-6) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Al Khor (3-4) 79-73 on Tuesday. Al Khor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Khobi Williamson (201-92, college: Hampden-Sydney) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jawan Davis (184-89, college: Claflin) who added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (203-87, agency: Mansfield and Associates) responded with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Ndoye Seydou-Elhadj produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Al Khor maintains sixth position with 3-4 record. Al Ahli lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with six games lost. Al Khor will meet higher ranked Al Wakrah (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Sadd.
