Regular Season Round 10: Hapoel Galilee - Maccabi K/G 86-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Kazrin between second ranked Maccabi K/G (8-2) and fifth ranked Hapoel Galilee (6-3) on Tuesday night. Maccabi K/G was defeated by Hapoel Galilee on the road 86-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Maccabi K/G. They outrebounded Maccabi K/G 40-22 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hapoel Galilee looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Brandon Edwards (198-91, college: Texas Arlington) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Courtney Fells (197-86, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) responded with 20 points and naturalized Polish point guard Nimrod Tishman (197-91, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Galilee moved-up to fourth place. Maccabi K/G at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Hapoel Galilee are looking forward to face Maccabi Raanana (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Maccabi K/G will play against Hasharon (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
