Regular Season Round 25: Akita NH - Yamagata 75-64

The game between Top Four teams took place in Akita. First ranked host Akita Happinets (21-3) defeated 4th placed Yamagata (10-14) 75-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Yamagata. Akita Happinets forced 22 Yamagata turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) contributed with 8 points and 8 assists for the winners. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Akita Happinets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-3 record. Yamagata at the other side keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Akita Happinets' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Fukushima on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yamagata will play against Iwate Big Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
