Regular Season Round 23: Puerto Montt - Las Animas 81-78

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Las Animas (19-5) on the court of sixth ranked Puerto Montt on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by Puerto Montt 81-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Las Animas. Puerto Montt looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Devon Scott (206-94, college: Philander Smith) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Canadian-DR Congolese forward Chadrack Lufile (206-90, college: Wichita St.) helped adding 15 points and 13 rebounds. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds and Colombian-Venezuelan power forward Luis Julio (201-80) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Puerto Montt (8-16) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with CD Castro. Las Animas at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. Puerto Montt is again looking forward to face league's leader Las Animas in Valdivia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Las Animas will have a break next round.
