Regular Season Round 25: Shinshu BW - Tokyo Z 65-69

There was a minor upset in Nagano where 4th placed Shinshu BW (11-13) was defeated by sixth ranked Tokyo Z (9-15) 69-65 on Wednesday. Tokyo Z dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Latvian center Ricmonds Vilde (211-90, college: Houston Baptist) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Shimon Takayama (180-90) chipped in 16 points. At the losing side Yosuke Yosuke (184-85) responded with 15 points and 5 assists and American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Tokyo Z maintains sixth place with 9-15 record. Loser Shinshu BW dropped to the third position with 13 games lost. Tokyo Z will face league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shinshu BW will play on the road against Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
