Regular Season Round 11: Karditsas - Amyntas Dafnis 69-71

Thirteenth-ranked Karditsas (2-9) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Amyntas Dafnis (7-4) on Wednesday. The visitors from Athens managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. Karditsas was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 19-14 charge of Amyntas Dafnis, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was forward Panag Koukounias (199-88) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Andriano Topalis (201-87) chipped in 11 points. Amyntas Dafnis' coach Alexis Zavos used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and forward Serafeim Theos (204-84) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kastoria and Doxa Lefkadas. Karditsas lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Arkadikos and AE Larissas. Amyntas Dafnis' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Papagou.
