Regular Season Round 18: Toshiba BT - Toyota Alvark 77-67

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Toyota Alvark (19-5) in Kanagawa on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (14-10) 77-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) scored 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Toyota Alvark's coach Luka Pavicevic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toshiba Thunders moved-up to second place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Toyota Alvark at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Toshiba Thunders is looking forward to face Osaka Evessa (#4) at home in the next round. Toyota Alvark's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Hitachi Sunrockers.
