Regular Season Round 25: Toyotsu FE - Cyberdyne IR 66-72

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Toyotsu FE (13-11) in Nagoya on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Cyberdyne IR (11-12) 72-66. Cyberdyne IR outrebounded Toyotsu FE 43-29 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) chipped in 16 points. At the losing side American forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Four Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cyberdyne IR moved-up to fourth place. Toyotsu FE lost fourth consecutive game. They still keep top position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hiroshima D.. Cyberdyne IR are looking forward to face Shinshu BW (#5) in Nagano in the next round. Toyotsu FE will play at home against Tokyo Z (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
