Regular Season Round 23: CDE Talca - Puente Alto 87-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Puente Alto's (10-14) road loss to fourth ranked Espanol de Talca (12-11) 80-87 on Wednesday. Espanol de Talca looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Espanol de Talca made 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a great evening for forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Center Albert Jackson (211-88, college: Georgia) helped adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. Forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman OLouis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) scored 32 points and 5 steals. Puente Alto's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Puente Alto lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. Espanol de Talca will face league's leader Los Leones in Quilpue in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Puente Alto will play at home against the league's second-placed Universidad Catolica (#2) and hope to win that game.
