Regular Season Round 25: Kumamoto V. - Kagawa FA 71-77

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kumamoto V. (16-8) against fifth ranked Kagawa FA (9-14) on Wednesday night. Host Kumamoto V. was defeated by Kagawa FA in a tough game in Kumamoto 71-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kumamoto V.. Kagawa FA dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 20. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Ayumu Osawa (177-91) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kagawa FA maintains fifth place with 9-14 record. Kumamoto V. at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Kagawa FA will meet league's second-placed Gunma on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kumamoto V. will play against Sendai 89ers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
