Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Golden Stars (13-5) and Eagles (6-12), which took place in Jinan. Higher ranked Golden Stars lost at home to sixteenth ranked Eagles 111-115. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Golden Stars helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) who scored 60 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Wei Su (212-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Yanyuhang Ding (200-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) added 19 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Five Golden Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Eagles moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Shanxi BD. Golden Stars at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Eagles' next round opponent will be higher ranked Sharks (#14) in Shanghai and it may be quite challenging game. Golden Stars will play at home against Gold Lions (#17) and hope to win that game.
