No shocking result in a game when third ranked HLA Alicante (10-4) defeated at home bottom-ranked Martorell (1-13) 79-62 on Wednesday. The game without a history. HLA Alicante led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. HLA Alicante outrebounded Martorell 46-31 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Jorge Lafuente (196-91) scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American Orion Outerbridge (206-88, college: Rhode Island) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. HLA Alicante's coach David Varela used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Alejandro Mazaira (202-97) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard David Jofresa (185-95) scored 15 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). HLA Alicante have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with La Roda and L'Hospitalet. Martorell lost eighth consecutive game. Martorell will play against Zamorano (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
