Regular Season Round 19: Helsinki Seagulls - BC Nokia 76-74

The most exciting game of round 19 in the Korisliiga took place in Helsinki. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked BC Nokia (8-10) to fourth ranked Helsinki Seagulls (11-6) 76-74 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Nokia. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-74. Strangely BC Nokia outrebounded Helsinki Seagulls 44-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Remy Abell (195-92, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) fired 26 points for the winners. His fellow American import forward Kayel Locke (196-94, college: NC-Greensboro) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Vincent Council (186-90, college: Providence) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists and Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) added 28 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Helsinki Seagulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 11-6 record. BC Nokia at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Helsinki Seagulls are looking forward to face Espoo United (#6) at home in the next round. BC Nokia will have a break next round.
