Regular Season Round 8: Toros - Universitarios 79-90

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Toros (3-5) against sixth ranked Halcones (3-4) on Wednesday night. Host Toros were defeated by Halcones in David 90-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toros. Toros were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Gary Forbes (201-85, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and American guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel) who added 27 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Halcones players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Antonio Bumpus (192-89, college: Cumberlands) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan Graddy Osorio (193-87) scored 24 points. Toros' coach Humberto Rapon rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Halcones moved-up to fourth place. Toros at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Halcones' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Panama City to the arena Panteras.
