Regular Season Round 18: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 63-62

A very interesting game took place in Osaka. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Shiga L-Stars (10-14) to fourth ranked Osaka Evessa (7-17) 63-62 on Wednesday evening. Strangely Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Osaka Evessa 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Takuya Hashimoto (186-94) contributed with 11 points for the winners. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) replied with 9 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Shiga L-Stars' coach Shawn Dennis tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Osaka Evessa maintains fourth position with 7-17 record. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the third place with 14 games lost. Osaka Evessa's next round opponent will be Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
