Regular Season Round 25: Ehime OV - Bambitious Nara 95-89

Everything went according to plan in Matsuyama where second ranked Orange Vikings (17-7) beat 6th ranked Bambitious Nara (5-19) 95-89 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bambitious Nara was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) chipped in 16 points. At the losing side South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: Auburn) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Orange Vikings maintains second place with 17-7 record having just four point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Bambitious Nara keeps the sixth position with 19 games lost. Orange Vikings will face league's leader Fukuoka Rizing on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bambitious Nara will play against Dragonflies (#4) in Hiroshima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
