Regular Season Round 12: Bendigo - Dandenong 64-47

Date: December 21, 2017
Bottom-ranked Bendigo Spirit managed to get a fourth victory. This time they won against sixth-ranked Dandenong Rangers 64-47. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference proves that Bendigo Spirit was well-prepared to that game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Betnijah Laney (183-93, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93, agency: LBM Management) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Bendigo Spirit players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Carley Mijovic (196-94) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bendigo Spirit maintains eighth position with 4-15 record. Dandenong Rangers lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Bendigo Spirit will play against higher ranked Sydney Uni Flames (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dandenong Rangers will play against Boomers in Melbourne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
