The game in Sao Paulo supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th ranked Minas (5-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Vivo/Franca (6-3). Vivo/Franca did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 75-55 on Thursday. Vivo/Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Minas' 26. Vivo/Franca forced 19 Minas turnovers and outrebounded them 42-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. The former international Luis-Felipe Gruber (206-85) notched 11 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international forward Rafael de-Souza (208-88) supported him with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Even 11 points by forward Wesley Ferreira (201-95) did not help to save the game for Minas. American guard Evan Roquemore (190-92, college: Santa Clara) added 8 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vivo/Franca have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Minas dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Vivo/Franca's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paulo to the arena Pinheiros.
