Regular Season Round 11: United - 36ers 99-91

Date: December 22, 2017
An interesting game for United (9-6) which hosted in Melbourne 4th placed Adelaide 36ers (8-8). Third ranked United managed to get a 8-point victory 99-91. It was a great evening for American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 5 assists. American-Fijian forward Tai Wesley (201-86, college: Utah St.) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (210-88, college: Pepperdine) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four United and five Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. United have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-6 record having just three points less than leader Breakers. Adelaide 36ers at the other side keep the fourth position with eight games lost. United will play against bottom-ranked Kings (#8) in Sydney in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Adelaide 36ers will play at home against the league's leader New Zealand Breakers (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
